The economic relations between Germany and China are enormous, but knowledge about social and private life in China is very little. The German sinologist Prof. Dr. Thomas O. Höllmann and the Chinese trainer & teacher Dr. Yangping Zhou and moderator Özlem Sarikaya discuss how life in China has changed in recent years and decades, the importance of education, and the effects of the one-child policy to this day. Digitization is well advanced in China and, according to Dr. Zhou, increasingly also used by the elderly. At the same time, traditional festivals such as the Chinese New Year or the Dragon Boat Festival are an integral part of the Chinese course of the year.
